There is no right or wrong answer to this as it’s very subjective and really depends on your type of hair, its length and how you usually groom it. Shampoos and conditioners offer different benefits and functions to haircare. Shampoo’s act as cleansers and are aimed at cleansing away sebum, oils and build-up from the scalp and roots of the hair. Conditioners are used to lock in moisture, decrease friction, detangle the hair, minimize frizz and improve comb-ability. Depending on your hair and scalps needs you may only apply conditioner to the lengths of your hair, or you may apply it to the scalp too. Using a conditioner after a shampoo will lower friction between fibres, decreasing damage, tangles and frizz. Washing with a shampoo alone means you aren’t getting the additional benefits of conditioners.
